SC lets OBC body seek caste drop-down menu for Census 2027

The Supreme Court on October 28 allowed the OBC Federation of India to approach the Registrar General and Census Commissioner with its demand for a pre-loaded drop-down list of recognised OBCs in Census 2027's digital tools. The federation argued that caste enumeration in the second phase is about to begin and that such a menu is still missing.
