Keralam CM Satheesan calls for steps to protect Vembanad lake system

Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has called for measures to protect the Vembanad lake system, saying its ecology is under severe stress from factors including climate change. He spoke in Kochi at a function honouring the late fisheries expert B. Madhusoodana Kurup, where he released Kurup's book on fishing and farming below sea level in the Vembanad-Kole wetlands.
