Melting Dolomites glaciers expose 250 First World War bombs
Rapidly retreating glaciers in Italy's Dolomites have exposed a large cache of unexploded First World War munitions, the Italian army said. After hikers reported sightings in Trentino, the Julia Alpine brigade recovered and defused 250 explosives, including Italian artillery shells and French-made mortar bombs from the 1915-18 'white war'. Experts link the finds to global heating.
