Centre releases extra ₹1.09 lakh crore tax devolution to states

The Centre on Saturday released an additional tax devolution instalment of ₹1,09,019 crore to state governments, over and above the regular monthly transfer. It is the second such extra instalment this financial year. The Finance Ministry said the release, ahead of the festive season, will help states speed up capital spending and fund development and welfare schemes.
