Dakar Rally 2027 moves to Portugal and Morocco after Saudi exit

The 2027 Dakar Rally will start with a prologue and first stage in Portugal before moving to Morocco, organisers ASO announced, days after dropping Saudi Arabia as host over security concerns. The race, likely scheduled for January 9-23, returns to Africa for the first time since 2008. Organisers called the move out of Saudi Arabia exceptional and one-off.
