Moonshot strips hacking skills from new Kimi K3.1 Pro model

Chinese startup Moonshot AI says it has reduced the cyber-offensive capabilities of Kimi K3.1 Pro, its most capable open-weight model, by removing cyber-related data from training while keeping general coding skills. It plans to publish the weights by November 4. The move comes as China proposes export controls on AI-driven malware generation and AI-assisted vulnerability-discovery tools.
