Romanian court extends far-right figure Georgescu's detention

A Bucharest appeals court has extended the pre-trial detention of far-right politician Calin Georgescu by 30 days, overturning a lower court's order moving him to house arrest. Prosecutors allege he and two others tricked a businessman into handing over 1.1 million euros. Georgescu denies wrongdoing and calls the probe politically motivated. Supporters protested inside the court building.
