Ex-TN minister Anbil Mahesh arrested in private schools 'party fund' case

Former DMK minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi was arrested by Chennai police hours after the Madras High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. The Central Crime Branch is probing allegations that crores of rupees were collected as 'party fund' from private school managements across Tamil Nadu. Poyyamozhi served as School Education Minister from 2021 to 2026. An alleged associate is absconding.
