India set to join EU Horizon Europe research programme

India is set to associate with the EU’s €93.5-billion Horizon Europe research programme after talks concluded. Once both sides finish formalities, the deal should take effect in January 2027. Indian universities, research institutes, companies and scientists would then gain access to funding and cross-border collaboration on major science projects.
