Small cars still rule India's roads, says Maruti chairman Bhargava

Maruti Suzuki Chairman R C Bhargava says demand for small cars remains strong in India despite the SUV craze. He cited sales of 398,000 small cars against 162,000 SUVs in the first half of FY27. First-time buyers now account for 54% of Maruti's sales, a significant rise, and recent GST cuts have also helped the segment.
