Peta video shows toxin tests on infant monkeys at US university
Animal-rights group Peta has released footage from the University of Washington's primate research centre showing newborn macaques, separated from their mothers, undergoing neurological tests. The six-year project, which ended in 2020, studied prenatal exposure to domoic acid, a marine algae toxin. Researchers dosed 32 pregnant macaques daily and removed 28 infants after birth.
