New film 'Miracle in Antarctica' tells story of India's first polar base

Miracle in Antarctica, a new film produced by Bengaluru-based filmmaker Sourabha Rao and directed by Santosh Saligram, chronicles the building of Dakshin Gangotri, India's first scientific base in Antarctica. Rao says the 1983-84 project was remarkable in scale and speed, as the station was completed within a single Antarctic summer, and that the story deserves to be widely known.
