India cut US oil imports to zero in September, turned to UAE

Official data show India slashed oil imports from the US to zero in September 2026 and sharply reduced Russian purchases, coinciding with a new US sanctions law on Russia and Iran. The UAE's share rose to over a quarter of India's oil imports. Russia and the UAE together now account for 60% of India's crude, keeping sourcing highly concentrated.
