Child marriage complaints rise sharply in Karnataka's Mysuru district

Complaints about child marriage made to Child Helpline 1098 in Mysuru district rose from 194 in 2023-24 to 310 in 2025-26. Of 173 complaints received between April and September 2026, FIRs were filed in 32 cases where the marriages surfaced only after they had taken place. The District Child Protection Unit has stopped several weddings following tip-offs.
