Bengaluru's 'grease hunters' turn used cooking oil into jet fuel
Collectors in Bengaluru gather used cooking oil from eateries to feed India's biofuel push. From January, international flights from India must use 1% sustainable aviation fuel, rising to 5% by 2030. Only about 5% of used oil is collected, and an estimated 60% re-enters the food chain. Aggregator M11 now has 300 collectors gathering 1,000 tons monthly.
