Hindustan Shipyard ties up with Kakinada port to add shipbuilding base

Defence shipyard Hindustan Shipyard Limited has signed an MoU with Kakinada Seaports Limited to develop shipbuilding capability at KSPL's facility in Andhra Pradesh, using an existing slipway and jetty. The deal, signed at INMARCO, could give HSL a second base beyond Visakhapatnam. The firms will first assess what the current infrastructure can handle before expanding capacity.
