BJP-JD(S) sweep Karnataka council polls, turning tables on Congress

The BJP and JD(S) won all four graduate and teacher seats in Karnataka's Legislative Council polls held on October 23, with the BJP taking three and the JD(S) one. JD(S) candidate A P Ranganath won Bengaluru Teachers from Congress. The result does not affect Congress's majority in the 75-member House but strengthens the Opposition against the Shivakumar government.
