BJP fields Hardeep Puri for Rajya Sabha bypoll in Madhya Pradesh

The BJP on Wednesday named Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha bypoll from Madhya Pradesh, to be held on November 12. The seat fell vacant after L. Murugan quit the Union Council of Ministers and the Upper House on October 14, though his term ran until April 2030. Puri was not renominated from Uttar Pradesh.
