DeSantis urges US states to stop H-1B hiring at public universities

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has urged other US states to stop hiring foreign workers through the H-1B visa programme at public universities. Florida has temporarily barred its 12 public universities from hiring new H-1B workers. In a post on X, DeSantis said such programmes bring in foreign workers "at the expense of young Americans" and that other states "should follow suit".
