Study links GLP-1 weight loss drugs to nail and hair changes

A new study presented at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress 2026 found people taking GLP-1 weight loss drugs reported nail changes, hair loss and scalp irritation more often than those who never used them. These included nail detachment and discolouration. Experts say the findings do not prove the drugs directly cause the changes, and advise consulting a doctor.
