French shooting suspect admits targeting people who appeared Muslim or African

A 39-year-old man charged over last Friday's drive-by shooting in Trappes and La Verriere, west of Paris, has admitted targeting people who appeared Muslim, African or North African, French anti-terrorism prosecutors said. One person was killed and seven were injured, including a child. Prosecutor Olivier Christen said the suspect chose the area as a "hotbed for Islamists".
