Startup Bolt Graphics powers on first test chip for its Zeus GPU

California startup Bolt Graphics says its first 12nm test chip, made by TSMC, ran without issues when switched on. The 6 sq mm chip draws 1.4 watts and has dedicated hardware for electromagnetic simulation. Bolt has opened a Taipei office, and its Zeus GPU, on TSMC's N5P process, is not expected in volume production until 2028.
