Ford makes 5,000 'unicastings' for $28,350 Fathom electric pickup

Ford has produced over 5,000 large aluminium 'unicastings' for the Fathom, its upcoming $28,350 midsize electric pickup due in 2027. Each truck uses two castings, front and rear, replacing 146 individual parts. The update, shared by chief engineer Vladimir Bogachuk, shows Ford fully embracing the giant-casting approach that Tesla popularised with its Giga Press.
