Madras HC: Life convicts can split 40-day annual leave into two parts
The Madras High Court has ruled that life convicts who have served 14 years can take their 40 days of yearly ordinary leave in two instalments, and prison authorities cannot force them to use it all at once. Justices Anita Sumanth and Sunder Mohan gave the ruling on a petition by convict S. Babu, who was denied 14 days of leave.
