Kerala's cut in PE teacher-student ratio may change little, say teachers

Kerala Education Minister N. Samsudheen's announcement cutting the physical education teacher-student ratio from 1:500 to 1:300 may have little effect, teachers say, as most schools lack such posts. Only about 1,800 PE teachers serve nearly 5,400 government and aided schools, and over 70% of schools have none. Teachers want 1960 Kerala Education Rules amended to create more posts.
