IMD seeks land for wind profiler radars in Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram

The India Meteorological Department is looking for land in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram to install wind profiler radars under Mission Mausam, launched in 2024 by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. The radars track wind speed and direction up to the troposphere, delivering data every 15 minutes to help study monsoon onset, withdrawal, turbulence and thunderstorms.
