18 greater flamingos sighted at Veeranam Lake, 50 km inland

A team led by Professor J. Pandiyan spotted 18 greater flamingos at Veeranam Lake in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district on October 25. The sighting is notable because the lake lies about 50 km inland, away from the coastal wetlands these birds usually frequent.
