Tamil Nadu tasks college HoDs with student placement prep

Tamil Nadu's Higher Education Department has made heads of departments primarily responsible for preparing students for jobs, asking them to sign MoUs with three to five relevant businesses and pick skill-training verticals from a list of 173 skills. Institutions must name five placement coordinators by November 16. Education activists want the order withdrawn, arguing subject experts should not act as placement officers.
