India calls for veto power for all UN Security Council members

India has renewed its call for comprehensive UN Security Council reform, including extending veto power to all member states. Permanent Representative Parvathaneni Harish said limiting the veto cannot be separated from questions of membership categories, regional representation, size and working methods. He added that the veto carries a heavy responsibility requiring restraint and should not serve narrow political expediency.
