Tata Punch EV edges Mahindra XEV 9S as India's top-selling EV

The Tata Punch EV was India's best-selling electric car in September 2026 with 4,702 units, just 66 ahead of the Mahindra XEV 9S at 4,636. Punch EV sales rose 284% from 1,223 units a year earlier, giving it about 13.3% of the 35,256 electric passenger vehicles dispatched. It is priced from ₹9.69 lakh, while the seven-seat XEV 9S starts at ₹21.40 lakh.
