Malaysia seizes $12 million worth of AI chips at KL airport
Malaysian customs seized 30 server units containing advanced AI chips worth 49.5 million ringgit, about $12.1 million, at Kuala Lumpur airport's free trade zone. Declared as electronic components, the servers were meant for re-export to another Asian country. It is the fifth such smuggling case this year, as Malaysia tries to avoid becoming a transit point for restricted chips.
