Microsoft offers voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 staff
Microsoft is offering voluntary exit packages to roughly 60,000 employees, about a quarter of its workforce, as it cuts costs while spending heavily on AI. Staff at vice-president level and below on select teams in the US, Canada, India and Britain are eligible, with some data centre, sales and marketing groups excluded. It is the company's second buyout offer this year.
