VW boss says it 'can't afford' an electric Golf for now

An internal Volkswagen memo shows mounting financial pressure is hitting development of the next-generation Golf, with the company's boss telling workers it cannot afford an electric version of its most important car. As a result, VW has paused development of the electric Golf, a model long seen as central to the brand's future line-up.
