Hyundai's affordable India EV likely to be named Ioniq P

Hyundai's upcoming made-for-India compact electric SUV, codenamed HE1i, is expected to carry the Ioniq P name, based on management comments on its Q3 2026 earnings call. The model will sit below the Creta Electric and is expected to debut in January 2027. Hyundai Motor India MD Tarun Garg said the company aims to bring its EV penetration closer to the industry average in FY28.
