US jails two Chinese nationals for spying for Beijing

Two Chinese nationals, Liren Lai, 40, and Yuance Chen, 39, have each been sentenced to 30 months in a US prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for acting as agents of China's Ministry of State Security. Prosecutors said that from at least May 2021 they arranged dead-drop cash payments of $10,000 and $20,000 and photographed a US naval facility.
