Hegseth reportedly fires senior army strategist over alleged leaks

US defense secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly dismissed Lt Gen Brett Sylvia, director for strategy, plans and policy on the Pentagon's joint staff, over allegations that he disclosed classified information. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said action followed an Air Force OSI investigation and the matter had been referred to the Justice Department for possible further legal action.
