Musk claims robotaxi win in Austin, but Waymo still drives 7x more

Elon Musk said Tesla's robotaxi race with Waymo 'was never a real contest' after Tesla's driverless fleet logged 438,000 miles in Austin in the week ending October 18, topping Waymo's 406,000 weekly average there. But Waymo's figure dates from the second quarter, and nationwide it averaged 3.9 million rider-only miles a week, about seven times Tesla's.
