German drone maker Quantum Systems claims 483-mph speed for battery-powered aircraft

German drone maker Quantum Systems says its battery-powered experimental aircraft, Apex Recordhunter, hit 483 mph (777 km/h) in a record attempt. The figure is not yet officially confirmed, as the aircraft must complete a return flight to account for wind. It beats the 434 mph reached in June. Built by the company's N3XT team over about a year, it is a technology demonstrator.
