CBSE sets five compulsory subjects plus optional skill paper for 2028 Class 10

CBSE has clarified that Class 10 board exams in 2028 will have five compulsory subjects, with an optional skill paper that can help students pass even if they fail mathematics, science or social science. The scheme applies to students in Class 9 in 2026-27, not the current Class 10 batch. Interdisciplinary and CT and AI modules are excluded.
