UK launches cheap loans for heat pumps and solar panels

Households across the UK can now apply for interest-free or low-interest loans to install heat pumps, home batteries and solar panels under the government-backed Warm Home Loans scheme, launched on Tuesday. Loans range from £7,500 to £35,000, with energy suppliers including British Gas and E.On partnering with lenders Tandem Bank and Homeserve to offer discounted rates.
