Israel extends Al-Aqsa ban on senior imam Ekrima Sabri until April 2027

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Higher Islamic Council in Jerusalem, has been barred from Al-Aqsa Mosque for more than two years, and Israel's latest exclusion order extends the ban until April 2027. Islamic Waqf officials warn their authority over the Muslim holy site is shrinking as Israel issues growing numbers of bans on Palestinians.
