Rare deep-sea barreleye fish with transparent head filmed in 4K
Scientists from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute filmed a rare barreleye fish, known for its transparent head, about 600 metres deep, roughly 90 km offshore. It was only the institute's 11th sighting of the species in nearly 40 years and the first captured in 4K. The fish rotates its tubular eyes beneath its clear shield to track prey.
