Amrita and Rajya Rani Express to get modern LHB coaches

Southern Railway will upgrade the Amrita Express and Rajya Rani Express with Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches, offering passengers better safety features and riding comfort. The Rameswaram–Thiruvananthapuram Central Amrita Express (16344/16343) will run with LHB coaches from Rameswaram from January 1, 2027, and from Thiruvananthapuram Central from January 2. The Thiruvananthapuram North–Nilambur Road Rajya Rani Express will also be upgraded.
