Beyond the snow leopard: five wild animals to spot in Ladakh

Ladakh's cold desert offers wildlife lovers much more than the elusive snow leopard. Visitors can look out for the blue sheep, or bharal, whose greyish-blue coat blends into rocky slopes, along with the Asiatic ibex, the Himalayan marmot and other species adapted to the harsh high-altitude terrain, making the region a rewarding destination for wildlife trips.
