Cheetah cub shot near Kuno dies; first such attack since reintroduction

A male cheetah cub, KNG22, found with gunshot injuries outside Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park, died during treatment in Jabalpur. It is the first such attack since the cheetah reintroduction programme began in September 2022. A CT scan found five firearm pellets, including in his lungs, and a four-member special task force has been formed to investigate.
