UNESCO experts want locals at the heart of Hampi conservation

A UNESCO expert committee that visited the Hampi World Heritage Site shared its preliminary observations with senior Karnataka Tourism Department officials at Vidhana Soudha on October 28. Describing Hampi as a living community, the experts said local residents must actively take part in conservation and also benefit from tourism and heritage development in the area.
