Questions raised over India's official manufacturing GVA figure

Official National Accounts Statistics put India's manufacturing gross value added at ₹38.6 lakh crore for 2023-24 at current prices. However, an alternative estimate built from the Annual Survey of Industries and the survey of unincorporated enterprises produces a lower number, prompting a closer examination of how the official figure is calculated.
