Australia expands biometric checks for visa applicants in India
From October 26, Australia requires fingerprints and facial images for certain new visa applications filed in India, while earlier applications and issued visas are unaffected. Applicants may be directed to one of 16 VFS Global centres or, if eligible, use the Australian Immi App. Australia says the move curbs fraud and already collects biometrics in nearly 60 countries.
