Diet and exercise put type 2 diabetes into remission for 54% of young adults
A clinical trial found that 54% of adults under 45 with type 2 diabetes achieved remission within six months on an intensive programme combining a low-calorie diet with structured exercise, compared with just 4% on usual care. The research, led by teams at McGill University and the University of Leicester, was presented at the EASD annual meeting and published in The Lancet Regional Health Americas.
