Telangana's GI-tagged Tandur tur dal makes first export trip to Australia

India has shipped its first consignment of GI-tagged Tandur Redgram, a Telangana tur dal variety, to Australia. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the 2.5-tonne shipment shows Indian GI products are finding global buyers and benefiting farmers. Grown mainly in Vikarabad district's Tandur taluka, the rainfed pigeon pea received its Geographical Indication tag in December 2022.
